Not Quite A Cupcake

I've had Yum bakery on my radar since September after seeing their cupcakes posted on a local instagram account. Flash forward to a few days ago when I was having a bout of insomnia and decided to look up Yum only to find out it was closing this weekend. Maybe having insomnia that night was serendipitous since I was able to catch the bakery before it closed its doors. 

When I chatted with the owner, I found out that she wasn't renewing her lease because of issues with the landlord. It was a sad story and part of the issues included not being able to make buttercream in the store, which included no more cupcakes! So I ordered the next item that resembled a cupcake: banana-maple bread pudding (which was baked in cupcake form).

I'm no bread pudding connoisseur but this was delicious! It was flavorful, had a good sponge and wasn't dry. Isn't that pretty much all one could ask for in a bread pudding?

I'm sad to see this bakery go but maybe it'll find a new location in the future and I can then sample their cupcakes!
