As a superstitious human, I tracked the last three Super Bowls that involved the Chiefs (prior to last week's). The one year I didn't bake a red and yellow Chiefs dessert, they lost (in February 2021 to the Buccs). So to give the hometown team as much good juju as possible I went in search of a new red and yellow dessert.
I'm resigning to the fact that red and yellow desserts usually mean raspberry and lemon but one year I will scour the internet more for a different flavor combo. Cookies were this year's choice dessert.
The Recipe: Lemon Raspberry Cookies from Scientifically Sweet
The Results: An epic ending to a relatively slow game with a Chiefs back-to-back Super Bowl win! But if you're looking for cookie results, these weren't overtly yellow from the lemon zest inside the cookie dough, so I added some on top after they came out of the oven for a full red-yellow cookie. The cookies were a little tart, not too sweet and almost muffin top-like with their softness. Overall a pretty tasty cookie made even more delicious by an exciting ending to the big game.
