Boozy Buttery Blondies

June 6, 2015

In an effort to consume my bottle of bourbon before I depart from Florida, I decided to bake something boozy.

Boozy Blondies
This recipe has just the right about of flavor from the bourbon. And they were so gooey, buttery and delicious.
Boozy Brown Butter Blondies adapted from smitten kitchen and the kitchn
Ingredients:
2 sticks of butter
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsps vanilla
1/2 cup bourbon
1/2 tsp salt (or fleur de sel)
2 cups + 2 tbs all purpose flour
1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray non-stick baking spray or grease a 9x13 pan.
2. To brown butter: heat butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir as it gets foamy. Keep an eye on the pan as the butter changes from yellow to golden to finally toasty-brown. Remove from heat once it has changed to brown color and let cool.
3. Once butter has cooled but is still in liquid form, stir in brown sugar. Then beat in eggs, vanilla and bourbon.
4. Mix in salt and flour. Then fold in chocolate chips.
5. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
6. Cool pan on a rack for 5-10 minutes. Cut and serve and enjoy!
