I've never been the biggest fan of Valentine's Day whether I spend it with a partner or not. But this year I decided to spend the day showing love to many people in my life by doing something I love: baking. These Soft Almond Sugar Cookies seemed like the perfect, festive treat on this holiday.
Even without a heart-shaped cookie cutter, I dug into my baking supplies and found pink food coloring, a circle cookie cutter, rainbow sprinkles and red Christmas sanding sugar to find a way to still decorate these cut-out cookies in the spirit of Valentine's Day.
The Recipe: Soft Almond Sugar Cookies from My Name is Yeh. They're deliciously soft and with the right amount of tasty almond flavor. And the glaze is so perfectly glossy and opaque AND easily spreadable on the cooled cookie. (I found it much easier to work with than royal icing).
