Every summer, I drive 8 hours north to my parents' house in the northern suburbs of Chicago. The older I get, the more I realize the importance of good, healthy snacks to keep me going during that long and boring drive.
Gone are the days of eating a pack of Sour Patch Watermelon Gummies and chips---I get way too groggy after eating them. But I found that if I packed fruit, nuts and jerky, I don't feel as sluggish while driving.
