I love tiramisu but have never made it before for a super silly reason: I didn't know where to find ladyfingers in the grocery store.
The simple answer to this conundrum would have been to google or even made my own. But alas, I avoided making one of my favorite desserts for many many years because of laziness (?) or cluelessness (???).
***PSA: Ladyfingers are located in the cookie aisle near other packaged cookies****
(thanks to my friend David who finally provided me with the answer I had been waiting for for far too long. I kept thinking they'd be in the bakery section near the muffins and doughnuts).
My first tiramisu was a super delicious Pumpkin Spice Tiramisu, which could make a wonderful make-ahead Thanksgiving dessert. No bake and fun to assemble (if organizing rows of ladyfingers is your type of fun).
The Recipe: Pumpkin Spice Tiramisu from the Kitchn.
Recipe Notes:
- Quickly dip the ladyfingers into the coffee soak. do not soak---i did this for a few of the fingers and they quickly soak in so much of the liquid and become too soggy for the tiramisu.
- this recipe uses two 7oz packages of ladyfingers for a 9x13 baking dish.
- Uses one whole can of pumpkin puree---hooray for no leftover pumpkin.
