Buffalo-ifying Everything

April 13, 2014

Who's ready for a totally addicting, tasty snack?
And it comes in the form of a somewhat healthy alternative to the bar food staple: chicken wings (here in Buffalo, I've come to learn that what the rest of the country calls buffalo wings is simply just wings here).

The first time I made Buffalo Roasted Chickpeas, I was only going to eat a few and then save some for another day. But then I was soon faced with an empty bowl. They were so good that I didn't realize I ate the entire batch.
I also tried Buffalo-ifying almonds and cashews. I would say that the almonds were tastier than the cashews but feel free to try other nuts. Peanuts would also work out great.
It's the perfect spicy, healthy snack for movie nights, game days or vegging.

Buffalo Roasted Chickpeas

  • use this recipe but line the baking sheet with parchment paper
  • also roast almonds, cashews or other nuts. I tried with already roasted almonds so they took about 10 minutes in the oven to cook. Raw nuts will cook in 10 minutes too.
  • if they are not buffalo-y enough for you, make a little more sauce and toss with the roasted chickpeas/nuts just before serving
  • enjoy!
