Before I start gushing about Christmas and cookies, I want to thank those of you who entered my giveaway. Congrats to Donna who was my winner of a box of DIY crafts and to three of my smaller giveaway winners: Sara, Anni and Mimi.
Now on to some cookies...
Hooray, it's December! Now I can officially listen to Christmas music, decorate and bake Christmas goodies. I've been searching for new recipes lately but have been saving these
Gooey Cinnamon Bars since last year.

These cookie bars were part of
Ina Garten's Cookie Swap in Lady's Home Journal last year and the recipe is also in
The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook, which I've been having fun exploring since I received it for my birthday this year.
If you love butter and cinnamon, then these
Gooey Cinnamon Bars are for you. Layered with flavors, the bottom is a buttery cookie crust, the middle is a gooey, vanilla-packed layer and the top is a cinnamon sugar creme brulee-like topping. Save them for Santa or share with friends. These are definitely a welcomed Christmas treat.
And check out these other favorites of mine from years past. Stay tuned for more recipes.
