Every holiday season I scour the internet to find my next batch of holiday baked goods. This year I decided to treat myself to America's Test Kitchen's newest cookbook The Perfect Cookie to literally find the perfect cookies to bake this holiday season.
Technically I didn't bake a cookie for the first recipe--I steered towards Gingerbread Brownies, which were shared at a dinner party last week. While the brownies were perfectly fudgy (I love a good fudgy brownie), they were very heavy on the molasses flavor. I was hoping there would be a good balance between the chocolate and gingerbread flavors. But if you change your expectation and think it's a gingerbread bar, then these are perfect!
The Recipe: Gingerbread Brownies on the blog cups + spoonfuls uses the America's Test Kitchen recipe but adds chocolate chips to the batter, which I think will help add an extra pop of chocolate that I was sadly missing from my non-chocolate chip filled brownies.
