Cupcake Ornaments

December 9, 2020

I had a little trouble finding a practical Christmas craft/project this year. I might still be scarred from last year's beeswax wrap making for a couple reasons: 1) they were soooo labor intensive 2) turns out, no one I gave them to has really used them.
I decided to stay in the "spreading Christmas cheer" category and steered myself to making these adorable Glittered Cupcake Ornaments

There was still some trial and error making these cute ornaments but nothing like last year. And the best part is that after you decorate it, this cupcake is forever--able to spread Christmas cheer year after year!
Glittered Cupcake Ornaments adapted from Martha Stewart
Materials:
Gold or Glittered Ball Ornaments (I got mine from Dollar Tree)
Spackle (16oz should be able to "frost" 12 ornaments)
Star piping tip (I used a closed one
Pastry bag
White Glitter (I used extra-fine)
Bugle Beads (in festive colors!)
Hot glue gun
Cupcake Liners (I had old silicon ones and used gorilla super glue gel to secure them to the ornament)
Directions:
1. Add a piping tip to a pastry bag and fill bag with spackle.
2. Take one ornament and pipe spackle around the top of the ornament---just like a cupcake!
3. Dust glitter over spackle and place beads into the wet spackle. Let dry for several hours.
4. If the beads are loose, use hot glue to secure beads.
5. Glue cupcake liner to the bottom of the ornament. Let dry.
6. Hang on tree and enjoy!
