Air Fryer Fun

January 25, 2021

For my birthday this year, I asked my sistas to get me an air fryer (and coincidentally, twin sista also got one for our birthday).

I've been having fun popping in an assortment of food into the appliance and have finally gotten the hang of it (I forgot to add the basket the first time I made food in it--which is the whole point of having the air fryer). It's become a regular in my cooking routine, making weekly appearances on my kitchen counter.

Two of my favorites from the air fryer have been fries and Korean wings.
The Recipe: Air Fryer French Fries from Munchkin Time are super easy to make and you won't miss real fried fries.

The Korean Wings combined a couple recipes and the end result was a spicy, tangy and super tasty dish.
Korean Air Fryer Wings adapted from Chef Chris Cho and NYTimes Cooking
Ingredients:
1-1.5 lbs wings
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder

3 tbs gochujang
3 tbs ketchup
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 lemon, juiced
toasted sesame seeds
Directions:
1. Set the air fryer to 400 degrees.
2. Pat chicken wings dry with a paper towel.
3. In a large bowl, combine salt, black pepper, paprika, baking powder, garlic and onion powders and mix. Then toss in the wings to coat with the dry ingredient mixture.
4. Add wings to the air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes and flip and cook for another 10 minutes.
5. Combine gochujang, ketchup, sugar and lemon juice in another bowl. When wings are cooked, toss wings in sauce to coat. Garnish with a sprinkling of sesame seeds.
6. Enjoy!
