Happy National Cupcake Day! I got this year's cupcake from a cupcake bakery up in the Northland of Kansas City, which is also a bakery I hadn't been to yet. Cupcakes Unlimited has been open for four years in KC and as I was about to enter the bakery, I read a sign that said their last day of operation was on Christmas Eve. The owner was planning on exploring a new path and decided to close its doors.
Even though I was a little bummed this would be my only trip to the bakery, I was pleasantly greeted with an array of cupcake flavors. I counted about 18+ flavors available and chose a beautifully decorated S'mores cupcake. Each cupcake is $2.95.
The cupcake had a tasty, fudgy frosting. The cake itself was a tad sweet but combined in one bite, it was a delicious treat. Hooray for another winner for Cupcake Day (which I realized has gotten better once I moved in to KC in 2017!). Here are other winners from past Cupcake Days: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020.
