I took my first trip since 2019 outside the Central Time Zone to Colorado Springs to visit my friend Stacey. I hiked, breathed in fresh mountain air, snuggled with her floofy pets and enjoyed an escape from humid and hot KC.
I honestly didn't look into the idea of grabbing a cupcake until another friend mentioned it to me (thanks, David). So before I headed back to KC, Stacey and I stopped by The Cupcake Doctor for a post-hike snack.
There were about 14 flavors available that day and I opted for the German Chocolate while Stacey ordered a Raspberry Champagne cupcake. Each cupcake is $2.75.
While these weren't the prettiest of cupcakes, the old saying is true: you can't judge a book by its cover. These two cupcakes were completely delicious. Not too sweet, moist, flavorful and a wonderful pick-me-up after a hike in the breathtaking Garden of the Gods.
Hopefully there are more cupcake adventures for Stacey and me in the near future. She has joined me on four previous adventures: 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2017. Until next time...!
